Cadence on Deoderant

The other day Cadence was watching Jeremy put on his deoderant. Cadence: what are you doing? Jeremy: what does it look like I'm doing? Cadence: Are you putting on your armpit glue? Jeremy: yes, yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm putting on my armpit glue so that my arms won't fall off. Cadence: OOOooohhhhh. Kennedy, Daddy's just putting on his armpit glue.

I finally got these videos off my phone. Some are long, some are short, and they've all been taken in the last 6 months or so. ENJOY!!

This picture goes along with the video. The toy she's got herself entangled in is an inflatable hydroplane hat I got at Seafair the second summer we were here.

Here the kids show off their genius - Jeremy was trying to get the cat to chase a laser pointer, but the girls kept the cat out of the game...

While we were at the fair, Kennedy really took to the tractors. The next two videos are her on two different tractors - she had a blast!

Here's Cadence on the carousel at the fair - Kennedy was too tiny to ride this year, and she was super sad about that, but then she liked watching for Cadence to come around again and again... Cadence practiced several different princess waves the whole time. It was great. ;)

While we were at Pam's for Lily's arrival, we found this little boat for FREE. So, we snatched it up and drove it home to Yakima for a sandbox! The girls loved it. A few weeks after we brought it home Cadence and I were looking at some things that started with the letter "b" - bat, ball, boy, boat. She got them all right until I pointed at the boat and without missing a beat said 'sandbox'. I love that kid. :)

Goofy Kids

So I tell the girls to go wash their hands after snack while I clean up in the kitchen. I can hear them giggling and carrying on and having quite a good time in the bathroom. Thinking they are surely soaked up to their armpits by now, I come around the corner to find this:


Fortunately they did not turn the water on while they were climbing all over the sink. Unfortunately, they were so busy moving around trying to get a good look at themselves in the mirror that a lot of the pictures are fuzzy. Silly girls.

Fun at the Library!

We love our library!! Terrace Heights Library is so much fun. And the librarians love to see Kennedy with cupcake all over her face, so they try to bring in good'n'messy treats to share. Yum!

Teacher Cadence

Cadence found Jeremy's old glasses while we were getting things packed for moving and decided that while she was wearing them she was 'Teacher Cadence'.

Can you find the Fairies?

At the Terrace Heights Memorial Park (cemetery) there is a pond with ducks, geese, a swan, and a pretty little structure that overlooks a reflection pond and in the summer is grown over with a leafy vine which covers the entire structure and made for the perfect fairy house. See if you can spot the fairies peeking out the window...

Moving...

Kennedy was a big help with moving. She labeled boxes and cleaned cupboards...oh yes; she was a BIG help...

OUR NEW HOUSE!!!

So the house isn't quite all put together, but I figured if I waited until I had everything the way I wanted it, you might not get to see pictures until next year, so here it is. We tried to put together a video, but between my inability to keep the camera stable while walking, and Cadence smooshing her fingers in the sliding glass door, we decided pictures would have to do. If you really want a walking tour, either come on over, or call Jeremy and he'll walk you through with the webcam.

Standing just inside the front door - this is the playroom. There is a table on the wall to the right for coloring and playdohing and computering, and more toys under the window. The door to the girls' room is directly to the left, behind the open front door.

Standing in front of the window in the playroom - the open door in the center of the picture is the office. The closed door is a closet, and to the left of the closet is the girls' room.

The office/craft room/spare bedroom. It's tiny, but we can squeeze the queen aero bed in as it is, or move the desk out for a little more elbow room.

So there it is! Like I said, we're still putting it together, but it's coming along nicely. We have so much SPACE! It's wonderful. :) We want to do some landscaping still, put in a couple of trees, maybe a deck off the patio, cover the patio/deck, plant a vegetable garden and some grapes... Lots of fun dreaming up what our house will become! The girls have slept better than they ever did in the apartment from night one, and Cadence is always commenting on how much she likes her new house and her new room. We've got a sideboard ordered that matches our dining table (it's so nice to not have to eat off our laps anymore!) that we're going to use as TV console. I'd like to put a double papasan in the playroom, but, we'll see. We get lots of sunlight during the day, which is helping to keep the house comfortable without turning on the heat, but I can see it maybe being a problem in the summer. Have to wait and see! Anyway, it's fun, and it's OURS!! Visitors are welcome anytime!

Oh, and although some of the walls look like they are painted blue, they are not. The whole interior, with the exception of the two front bedrooms, is painted a calm green color, and the two bedrooms are a brighter green.

Pumpkin Carving!

The girls had a great time carving pumpkins. From the first mention of pumpkins and Halloween Cadence had been begging to carve pumpkins.

I didn't get any pics of carving, since I was carving with them, but Kennedy refused to touch the punkin guts and didn't want anything to do with the cleaning out process. She did, however, want in on the cutting out part. And the eating the toasted punkin seeds part. Cadence didn't like the seeds, but she loved scooping out her pumpkin and cutting out the face.

The last picture is the punkins all lit...in the bathroom in the dark. After a couple nights outside, Kennedy's pumpkin didn't look quite as menacing as the freezing nights quickly aged the pumpkins into a withered mess.
