Teeth and Toes

Since I haven't really been keeping up with my blogging, I thought I'd back-track a little and get you up to speed on Kennedy's latest developmental milestones.

On November 8, Kennedy got her first tooth. Bottom right. I thought for sure the next one would pop out within a few days, but no - 2 weeks later (almost to the day) her second tooth came in. That's 2 months earlier than Cadence got her first in. On Christmas Day, the top right tooth came in. The poor thing has been having quite a miserable time of it - she gets a terrible runny nose, and on top of my wiping it constantly, I'm sure it just doesn't feel good to have those teeth cutting for so long.

Now, I don't know how many of you Jeremy told about Kennedy walking, but she did start walking about a month ago. She'd walk if we put her out in the middle of the room with nothing to grab on to, but wasn't interested in initiating it herself. Well, apparently Christmas brings out the will to do things in my girls because on Christmas Eve Kennedy decided she was done with this crawling thing and was going to walk from now on. Cadence did the very same thing. So, while she's technically been walking since 9 months, Kennedy is really and truly a walker now at 10 months. She's got Cadence beat by a month on that. It looks so odd to see this teeny tiny little thing stepping across the floor with no fear whatsoever. Kids are amazing.

Kennedy just can't wait to catch up to her big sister on so many things. She tries so hard to be such a big girl. Although, Cadence really caught on to the sign language thing right away, Kennedy uses one sign for almost everything - gimme. She has come to the conclusion, however, that if she signs what we are showing her, things get done more quickly. So, she's using the signs for 'more', 'all done' (and she kind of says 'all done') and is working on 'please'. She still really likes to use the gimme sign for come get me, I need a drink, I want that, give me more, yes I want some cheese. We'll keep working on it. Cadence tells me all the time that she's Princess and Kennedy is Sunshine (usually after I've called Kennedy Princess) but Kennedy has some very princess-like qualities of her own.

Snow Pictures!!

The girls love to go sledding! These are pictures from when we went with our friends, the Huards, a couple days after Christmas.

They all went down the hill together - by themselves! So brave!

Party with the snowman

You can tell, by the time we got finished with the snowman, the girls were just done. It was also raining by then, so we were all pretty much done.

I'm going to work this afternoon on getting some video posted of the kids sledding down the hill, so check back later....

Christmas Pictures!!

I got the girls all dressed up in their fancy duds on Christmas Eve at Gramma's house and tried to get some fancy pictures. Well, I got pictures anyway...
